Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide critical care support in a step-down unit setting, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care. This contract opportunity is based in Horseheads, NY, offering a dynamic clinical environment focused on teamwork and comprehensive patient assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications safely and accurately
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Assist with patient mobility including pushing, pulling, and lifting as needed
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Collaborate within a team nursing model to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain patient ratios of 3:1 in step-down, 5:1 on day shift, and 7:1 at night for effective monitoring
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with step-down nursing experience preferred
- ACLS certification required
- Strong skills in medication administration and patient assessment
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care
- Demonstrated teamwork and communication competencies
- Familiarity with team nursing models a plus
