Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the development of advanced clean energy capabilities and innovative technologies. This role involves working with project leads and external contractors to provide project administration, oversight, and technical support while ensuring compliance with design, procurement, and implementation requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Project Management Support: Work with project leads and external contractors to provide comprehensive project administration and oversight under established guidelines and procedures
- Cost & Budget Control: Perform cost studies, cost-benefit analyses, and maintain budget controls to ensure project activities remain within budgetary and regulatory guidelines
- Schedule Management: Build, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules while coordinating with internal and external parties to ensure smooth project execution
- Design Review Coordination: Review designs and bid evaluations related to engineering concerns and overall project completion while providing technical recommendations
- Documentation Management: Distribute and review project-related documentation, coordinate drawing reviews between reviewing staff, vendors, and consulting firms
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external parties through frequent follow-ups, scheduling calls, leading meetings, and maintaining organized project files
- Quality Assurance: Ensure equipment and systems meet all design, code, procurement, implementation, and licensing requirements
- Technical Support: Support power system engineers with administrative and limited oversight responsibilities
- Communication Management: Take meeting minutes, organize notes and files, and facilitate clear communication across project teams
- Innovation Support: Apply out-of-the-box thinking to solve complex technical challenges and support advanced technology development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of project management experience in advanced technology projects
- Experience with advanced technologies such as digital twins, data analytics, immersive visualizations, large-scale power grid simulators, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, load and weather forecasting
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art project management and contract administration
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, and project management applications
- Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and SAP
- General technical understanding of electric power systems, modeling, and simulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, third parties, and diverse audiences at all organizational levels
- Knowledge of industry-wide practices in high technology domains
- Awareness of industry changes and advancements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with cost analysis and budget management
