The Quality Assurance & Health Safety Manager is responsible for the administration and execution of the Quality Management Systems, through the implementation and support of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program and associated policies. They will also be responsible for the ongoing execution of policies and practices relating to the Health & Safety program. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and safety of our team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and upholding the company's reputation for quality.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Continual improvement of Quality Management and Health & Safety programs
- Conduct customer complaint investigation and review findings with Operations Manager & VP of Operations within the required timeframe.
- Ensure all tasks and programs / processes within the QMS fully adhere to the requirements of SQF, Organic, Kosher, HACCP and GMP.
- Conduct Audits and Inspections: Regularly perform internal audits and inspections of production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify and address quality issues.
- Manage Documentation: Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including test results, audits, and corrective actions.
- Analyze Quality Data: Collect and analyze data related to product quality, prepare reports for management review and identify areas for improvement.
- Serves as contact for inquiries from our partners and external regulatory organizations related to regulatory authorities.
- Management and ownership of the QC Lab and testing activities.
- Maintain all required training certification and skills required for our continuously evolving food safety program programs.
- Facilitates incident investigations, on workplace incidents and provides feedback to staff and management recommending corrective actions to facilitate a safe workplace and ensure legal compliance.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with department managers in the development of site management plans to implement H&S controls and ensure systems are kept operational.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a quality assurance manager or in a similar role within the beverage or food industry.
- Minimum 8 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years management level safety professional experience
- A bachelor’s degree in food science, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
- Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner
- HACCP and Food Safety
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
