Location: New York Metro Region | Hybrid Potential
Start Date: Immediate | Full-Time Consultant Assignment
Client: Port Authority of NY & NJ – Engineering Department, Engineering Solutions Unit
Pay Rate: $75–$100 per hour. (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and enhance in-house .NET web and Windows applications for Engineering operations.
- Design and develop full-stack applications using ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, React.js, and Node.js.
- Implement integrations using SQL Server ETL, REST APIs, SharePoint Online, Azure Data Lake, and Esri GIS services.
- Develop and support SSRS reports, SQL stored procedures, and database models.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Applications Group Project Manager and Technical Lead on new systems.
- Provide Tier 2 support and troubleshooting for Engineering application users.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in ASP.NET (Web Forms and MVC) full-stack development.
- 5+ years of hands-on C# programming and object-oriented design.
- 5+ years of frontend development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
- 2+ years of development using React.js (frontend) and Node.js (middleware/service).
- 2+ years of experience in SQL Server: stored procedures, data modeling, Entity Framework or similar ORM.
- 2+ years of integration/API development using RESTful services.
- 1+ year of SSRS report development.
- 1+ year of experience with Git and Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Soft Skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage changing priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and task ownership skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or industry certifications (Microsoft, Azure, DevOps, etc.).
- Experience with AI APIs or ML model integrations.
- UI/UX prototyping in Figma or similar tools.
- CI/CD pipeline development and Agile/Scrum collaboration.
- Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, and secure authentication practices.
- Experience with Azure environments, Python scripting, and Esri GIS.
- Previous experience supporting government agencies or large-scale infrastructure clients.
COMPENSATION
Hourly Rate: $75–$100/hour
This rate is competitive within the public-sector IT market and reflects the technical complexity and qualifications required for the role.
