Job DescriptionSalary: $55,000-$75,000

Job Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) provides support to the Electrical Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing electrical construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves assisting with project scheduling, document control, vendor coordination, and financial tracking to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with company policies and safety standards in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams to ensure continued profitability and growth.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

Assist with pre-construction activities, including document preparation, scheduling, and ensuring a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.

Support project scheduling by tracking milestones, updating timelines, and coordinating with field teams to align progress.

Assist in the development of project budgets, extracting cost and labor estimates, and entering data into ERP and timekeeping systems.

Coordinate and process submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring timely responses to prevent field delays.

Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement, negotiation, and delivery of materials.

Maintain and organize project documentation, including contracts, permits, safety plans, compliance records, and drawings.

Collaborate with field teams to address operational issues, providing necessary documentation and problem-solving support.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies, assist in safety plan development and tracking safety documentation.

Assist in project close-out, ensuring all final documentation, inspections, and client handover procedures are completed effectively.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position collaborates in the oversight of Foreman, Journeyman and Helpers but is not the direct supervisor. Responsibilities include communicating, planning, scheduling and assigning work.

Minimum Qualification Standards:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.

2-5 years of experience in electrical construction

High School Diploma or GED required.

Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations; Voltage-drop, Ohms law, conduit-fill, wire ampacity, de-rating, etc.

Valid NYS drivers license free from major infractions required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam and estimating programs preferred

Possess strong problem-solving abilities to address and solve survey challenges associated with construction operations.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
