Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Operations Manager to lead and oversee pharmaceutical services in their pharmacy. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the pharmacy department, ensuring safe and efficient medication management, and promoting a high standard of resident care. Qualified candidates will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with regulations, optimizing pharmacy processes, and providing exceptional customer service.

Location: Bardonia, NY
Reports To: VP of Operations
Schedule: Onsite

  • Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM/ 9 AM-6 PM/ 10 AM-7 PM
  • Availability on weekends depending on business needs.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range/Hourly Rate [Pick 1]: $165,000.00 - $175,000.00 USD/Annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and direction to the pharmacy team, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
    • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and foster a collaborative positive work environment.
  • Medication Management & Quality Assurance
    • Over see the ordering, storage, dispensing, and administration of medications to residents in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Develop and implement robust quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and safety of medication-related processes.
    • Review and track key metrics such as medication errors, pharmacy efficiencies, and on time delivery statistics.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development
    • Stay abreast of all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations to ensure adherence to those standards.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure consistent and safe practices.
  • Budgeting & Resource Management
    • Manage the pharmacy budget, control costs, and ensure the efficient use of resources while maintaining the highest quality of service.
  • Technology & Automation
    • Assist in the implementation of innovative pharmacy technologies and automation systems to improve efficiency and reduce medication erros.
    • Track and analyze data related to the implementation of pharmacy technology to assess its impact on operations and patient outcomes.
  • Training & Education
    • Stay informed on the latest advancements in pharmacy practices and share relevant updates with the team.
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting
    • Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the pharmacy department and regularly assess performance against said metrics.
    • Prepare reports on pharmacy operations, including metric reviews, highlighting areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, administrators, etc.) to promote effective communication and integrated care for LTC residents.

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted pharmacist licensure in the state where the LTC facility is located.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations and standards in the LTC industry.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage pharmacy technologies and automation systems.
  • Experience with budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control.
  • A commitment to providing exceptional resident care and improving the quality of life for LTC residents.

Compensation
The published salary range is used as a guide to provide prospective candidates with a level of compensation that is competitive with today’s market. The salary range for this position is a good faith estimate that allows for flexibility to align with various levels of experience, education, and performance.
