Job Description

Company Overview

BlinkPayroll is on a mission to help small business owners—who aren’t payroll professionals—pay their employees and contractors accurately and stay compliant. We elevate the administrative burden from their plate so they can focus on growing their businesses. We’re a tight-knit startup team that collaborates every day toward the common goal of making payroll effortless.

Position Summary

As our Senior Payroll Sales Representative, you’ll own the sales and onboarding process for new clients—prospecting leads, demonstrating our platform, and guiding companies through their first three payroll runs. You’ll be a key driver of BlinkPayroll’s growth by converting cold, warm, and hot leads into satisfied, long-term customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect & Pipeline Management: Research and engage cold leads; maintain and update all activities in our CRM (HubSpot experience a plus)
  • Product Demos & Pitches: Deliver compelling live demos; articulate BlinkPayroll’s value to diverse personas
  • Conversion & Onboarding: Close deals, set up new clients, and train them to run their first three payrolls
  • Client Success: Follow up to ensure smooth first runs; troubleshoot issues and answer questions
  • Feedback & Insights: Collect and report client feedback; suggest product improvements and new features to our roadmap
  • Persona-Driven Sales: Tailor sales approaches for different industries and company sizes
  • Sales targets: Achieve and exceed sales targets and quotas.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of U.S. payroll sales experience or payroll-software sales for small businesses (1-20 employees)
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with national payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto, SurePayroll, Quickbooks Payroll, Patriot Software, etc..) and CRM systems (HubSpot preferred)
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability to demo software, negotiate, and close deals
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; comfort with both phone and video calls
  • Organization: Highly detail-oriented; able to manage multiple prospects and follow-up tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tax Knowledge: Experience with state payroll tax rules and implementing new companies, including payroll history
  • Technical Savvy: Good understanding of payroll software and CRM systems
  • Leadership: A self-motivator who takes ownership and moves things forward while helping colleagues.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Basic pay: Competitive basic compensation
  • Commission: Uncapped commission structure
  • Benefits: Health insurance plus a suite of non-monetary perks (flexible remote work, team retreats, training stipends, etc.)

How to apply

Send your resume and short answers to these questions:

  • Which payroll software have you sold to small businesses, and for how long?
  • Tell us about your biggest win converting a cold or warm lead.
  • Walk us through your steps from “signed up” to “third payroll is done.”
  • Why does BlinkPayroll’s mission of payroll for non-payroll people excite you?

Qualified applicants will complete a 30‐minute video interview with a live role‐play and an onboarding scenario.
