Human Resources Manager
Looking for a strong HR professional with strong leadership skills for a dairy manufacturer in Western, New York. This is the opportunity to lead a HR team in a large manufacturing facility with a growing organization that offers strong benefits and company culture!
Location: Rochester/Buffalo, NY region (relocation assistance provided)
Job Responsibilities:
- Plans and administers policies related to all phases of HR activities
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies and procedures are in compliance.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
- Oversees site compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Manages and monitors career pathing/performance management programs.
- Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records/reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
- Coordinates training/educational activities for the facility. Assists departments with the development of training/educational curriculum and activities.
- Employee relations counseling including coaching and corrective action administration.
- Evaluates reports, decisions, and results in department in relation to established goals.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Administration, Business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 5+ years broad based HR generalist experience required.
- 3+ years HR experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- 5+ years’ experience leading direct reporting team members is required.
- Strong understanding of HR practices in recruitment, organization development, policy administration, training, and employee relations.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with company values.
- Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, investigation skills, HR technical knowledge in EEO, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and worker’s compensation.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems (Paylocity and UKG/Kronos preferred).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing organizational change.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
