Job Summary:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing a wide variety of business aspects, with a focus on two core areas, operations and accounting, as well as limited duties in human resources and risk management. That said, this position will impact every facet of the business, work closely with the CEO daily, and be involved in all key company decisions. Operational activities are significant and include everything from raw material sourcing, managing production partners in Italy and Mexico, international and domestic logistics, inventory management, and sales and marketing operational support. Accounting duties are also significant and include bookkeeper/controller functions, collaboration with our outsourced CPA and accountant on closing the month's books, and basic financial modeling. Human resource and risk management duties will be limited in the first 12 months but will include employee onboarding, managing the company's 401 (k) program, assisting in the organization of the company's annual offsite, and managing our insurance policies. This role requires a strong future leader who can lead by example, learn new skills on the fly, and pay attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement of raw materials, packaging components, and other necessary supplies.
Oversee all aspects of spirits production through third-party vendors, including fermentation, distillation, blending, bottling, and reporting, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain efficient production schedules that safely optimize resource utilization to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Manage inventory with an international supply chain that strengthens cash flow while being resilient to out-of-stocks
Assist the Chief Commercial Officer with the operational component of all sales and marketing initiatives as needed.
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations
Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and establish strong vendor relationships.
Manage and optimize demand planning and forecasting.
Accounting and Finance
Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping and controller duties, from AR, AP, coding transactions, and accounting for inventory costs.
Identify outsourced or in-house solutions to execute bookkeeping and controller duties as the workload increases.
Work with Accountants to reconcile monthly and close books by the 15th of each month.
Update the financial model monthly with actual inputs and collaborate with the CEO to adjust the forecast accordingly.
