Job DescriptionSalary: $18

The Dock Assistant assists the Dock Supervisor in all aspects of the dock operation. This includes but is not limited
to, maintaining the accuracy and productivity of vehicle loading and unloading, processing of pallets, assisting with
building and equipment maintenance, producing reports, and paperwork.


RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Has direct oversight and responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of all inbound and outbound loads.
  • Ensures all receiving, inspection, and put away processes are performed correctly and completed daily.
  • Makes recommendations to Dock Supervisor related to best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Promotes a clean, sanitary and safe working environment at all times.
  • Assists in maintaining an accurate inventory.
  • Shares responsibility for building security, and safeguarding of assets.
  • Can operate a multitude of fork trucks, man-ups, pallet jacks (manual and electric) with proficiency
  • Learn and operate 3PL Warehouse Management Software
  • Participate in daily meetings with facility manager to ensure work flow is completed timely and accurately
  • Resolve all customer issues as they arise
  • Must be willing to work in all areas of the operation including but not limited to pick and pack, light janitorial
    and maintenance as needed


Schedule:

  • 40-50 hours a week. Shifts Vary between the hours of 7am and 6pm.


Pay:

  • $18


Requirements/qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid NYS Drivers License
  • 2 or more years of warehouse and logistics experience
  • Self-motivated and disciplined team player with strong communication, interpersonal, and delegation skills.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer knowledge of Windows and MS Office
  • Must be able to work any shift, any schedule and any day of the week
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, office, and plant personnel using verbal and written
    communication.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be able to use a 10
    key calculator.
