Job Summary: Product Manager (Prod Dev & Sourcing) - Soft Home
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Development Manager to lead product initiatives within our Home division. Based full-time at our New York City headquarters, this role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development process for key categories, from product concept through final delivery. The ideal candidate is a highly organized with deep experience in home textiles or home products and strong cross-functional capabilities.
Primary Role:
- Ideal candidate will have home textiles experience.
- Responsible for initiating, overseeing and coordinating all efforts associated with the development of product, from ideation and design through to execution and delivery.
- Be the central hub to coordinate all efforts between sales, design, merchandising, packaging, sourcing, and logistics.
Product Development:
- Provide guidelines to design for the development of product specifications. Review and approve all specifications sent to overseas suppliers from initial concept to final product.
- Establish and maintain a Time & Action calendar along with ownership to meet key milestone dates.
Production:
- Coordinate all aspects of program rollouts to include: country and vendor selection & capability, sampling, packaging, testing, profitability and time lines.
- Establish, maintain and own a Time & Action calendar to meet customer ship dates.
- Oversee all aspects of production planning including: product information set up, packaging and labeling information and set up, vendor set ups, pre-production planning, purchase order execution and delivery dates.
Communication & Organization:
- Proactively manage timelines throughout the development process.
- Participate in key customer and vendor meetings.
- Maintain master list of products in development by account and category.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in product development, ideally within home textiles
Proven leadership in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Strong understanding of sourcing, retail math, and production lifecycles
Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Mandarin preferred
- Bachelors degree or equivalent required.
Salary: $65k-$80k annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, internal equity, and location.
