Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Hauppauge, New York. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong background in accounting operations, internal controls, and process improvements. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team while ensuring the efficiency and integrity of financial functions.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, focusing on efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial processes and data.
• Conduct ongoing audits and analyses of accounting procedures, recommending and executing improvements to enhance workflows.
• Supervise and guide team members, fostering effective collaboration and communication across departments.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions.
• Manage and utilize accounting software systems, including ERP platforms, to streamline operations.
• Monitor compliance with financial regulations and company policies, addressing any discrepancies proactively.
• Provide strategic input on financial matters to support organizational decision-making and planning.
• Train and mentor staff, encouraging growth and development within the team.
• Collaborate with external auditors and stakeholders to ensure transparent and accurate reporting.• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms and tools like BlackLine and Concur.
• Expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, auditing, and billing processes.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and financial regulations.
• Familiarity with ADP financial services and payroll systems.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze processes and implement improvements.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and support a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
