Job DescriptionPayroll Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist with 4 years of experience working in payroll. This is a contract opportunity, located in Queens, New York.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll for all employees on a bi-weekly basis using payroll software.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and direct deposits.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other year-end tax documents.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Process off-cycle payments, bonuses, commissions, and retroactive pay adjustments.
- Manage garnishments, levies, and other wage assignments in compliance with legal requirements.
- Generate payroll reports for internal use and external audits.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports.
- Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with benefits administration and timekeeping system integration as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient with Paycom
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Payroll position

Salary: $35-40/hr
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
