Position Summary:

The Surgical Services Support Specialist provides essential support across all areas of the facility, including the surgical environment. Responsibilities include assisting with equipment during procedures, maintaining safety and infection control standards, supporting room turnover, patient transport, and supply preparation. The role also manages inventory, processes orders, coordinates with vendors, and ensures equipment readiness throughout the facility.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Assist physicians with equipment during laser procedures.
  • Document procedural details, laser settings, and patient responses; maintain accurate, confidential patient records and communicate with staff.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, confirm patient information during surgical time-outs, and ensure patient safety.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laser and procedural area.
  • Make timely, informed decisions during procedures and support activities.
  • Safely escort and transport patients to designated areas.
  • Assist with Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety Rounds to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support turnover and preparation of operating and procedure rooms, maintaining cleanliness and readiness.
  • Receive, unpack, and verify shipments according to protocols.
  • Assemble and prepare supplies and equipment for upcoming procedures.
  • Oversee facility inventory, including restocking and monitoring oxygen and compressed air tanks.
  • Manage inventory counts, report recalls, and coordinate equipment repairs.
  • Process purchase orders and invoices; manage vendor relations, contract compliance, and back-order communication.
  • Compile quality improvement reports, maintain documentation, handle product recalls and vendor returns, and conduct monthly inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS certification
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within an ASC setting

Work Schedule:

  • Rotating Schedule – including days, evenings, and weekends

Salary Range:

  • $27.00 - $29.00 to commensurate with experience
