Since 2009, The Dorm has been a mission-driven, client-centered mental health organization that has been bringing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment to young adults, ages 18-30.


Our marketing and communications department is looking for a passionate and creative Marketing Intern who will serve as a critical member of our close-knit, dynamic team.


The marketing intern will work closely within our team to advance our multi-media digital marketing goals when it comes to video content capture, partnership content, social media strategy, email marketing production, search as well as web content project support. They will come away with a firm understanding of what goes into a comprehensive B2B and B2C marketing strategy and receive recommendations from our team leadership upon successful completion (September - December 2025).


Essential Duties:

  • Multi-media Content Support:

    • Support with weekly video content capture with support of marketing manager/s to support regular cadence of expert educational content for YouTube videos and shorts, Instagram Reels and LinkedIn features as well as website content

    • Support with prepping interview questions and editing content under the supervision of marketing management

    • Support with capturing key community events and activations for strategic social media and email community

    • Assist in optimizing old blog posts for monthly community newsletters

    • Convert existing library of educational assets into blog posts

    • Edit and synthesize transcripts of professional education events for blog posts and resource bundles

    • Complete and maintain media library database with marketing management team for easy content turnaround

    • Support with calendar graphics for monthly community newsletters

    • Support with graphics for digital screens

    • Organize existing databases and libraries for ease of use

    • Organizing and supporting family portal content briefs

    • Support with basic KPI reporting and analytics with management guidance and mentorship

  • Email

    • Support with maintaining email calendars for parent and family community newsletters, keeping in mind mental health and timely awareness days, community activities and events.

    • Support with basic KPI reporting and analytics with management guidance and mentorship

  • Public Relations:

    • Assist in building and maintaining contact databases for ongoing partnership collaborations (podcasts/social media collaborations, etc.)

  • Search Engine Optimization:

    • Assist with researching and contacting directories, auditing and tracking valuable backlinks

    • Audit blogs that are not ranking and flag for adaptation

  • Market Research:

    • Conduct market research to identify seasonal trends and opportunities

    • Conduct market research for special projects to support marketing and communications strategic objectives and goals


Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • College or graduate student

  • Currently enrolled in a communications, marketing, or related program

  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Youtube, Facebook, and Linkedin

  • Skills in social media production and basic video editing

  • Interest in mental healthcare and being part of a mission-driven organization

  • US-Based (The Dorm is unable to sponsor visas for internships)


Hours Per Week (Anticipated): 10-20 Hours / Week Based on Candidate Availability


Term/Duration: The position has the potential to extend beyond the Fall/Winter term based on the performance and availability of the chosen candidate.
