Job Description/Justification:

We are looking for Field Operations Manager. Asylum Seeker Operations HERRC IT Services and Support is needed to support ongoing IT, network, and site security technology and infrastructure. This role will maintain service quality, meet agency performance standards, and support ongoing mission-critical operations. This role is critical in overseeing field, network, and IT operations..

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Field Operations Manager is a senior-level position responsible for leading and coordinating all field-based technical operations across multiple sites and deployments. This role oversees a team ensuring effective planning, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical infrastructure in both routine and emergency environments. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in field operations, exceptional leadership ability, and a deep understanding of technology systems in dynamic, high-stakes settings.

  • Lead all aspects of field operations, including deployment planning, resource coordination, logistical support, and personnel management.
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and teardown of IT, telecom, and other infrastructure at field sites.
  • Supervise a team of field engineers and support technicians; provide coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define operational priorities, establish SOPs, and align field execution with organizational goals.
  • Ensure operational readiness of mobile assets, deployable kits, and field equipment.
  • Monitor service delivery performance, troubleshoot high-level issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of field activity, asset tracking, and incident documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.

  • 12 years of work experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure support.
  • Proven experience leading teams in diverse environments—including emergency deployments, construction zones, or remote locations.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, telecom systems, mobile communications, or public safety technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, mission-driven approach.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments with limited supervision.
  • Valid driver's license; willingness to travel.
