Job Description
Job Title: Product Owner, Healthcare Workforce Management (Scheduling & Attendance)
Location: Airmont, NY (Onsite preferred; hybrid considered for the right candidate)
About the Role
At Empeon, we’re building a best-in-class HCM platform tailored to the healthcare market. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Product Owner to lead the continued growth of our Scheduling and Attendance modules, focused on solving operational and compliance challenges for healthcare providers — particularly skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and long-term care organizations.
You will own the full product lifecycle for both modules — from vision to delivery — helping to shape intuitive and compliant solutions that meet the complex staffing and labor management needs of healthcare providers. This role requires someone who can define the roadmap, prioritize features, and stay on top of Workforce management tech trends and competitors to ensure we are delivering a leading-edge product.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for both Scheduling and Attendance products.
- Evaluate current solutions and lead efforts to enhance, optimize, and expand capabilities.
- Gather and prioritize healthcare-specific requirements, with a focus on SNF and long-term care.
- Stay current on healthcare labor regulations (PBJ, staffing ratios, overtime rules) to ensure compliance.
- Conduct market and competitor research to identify trends and customer needs.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, UX/UI, engineering, and client-facing teams to drive delivery.
- Engage directly with clients to gather feedback and translate it into actionable improvements.
- Guide BAs on user story development to ensure alignment with the product vision.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Workforce management Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally within healthcare.
- Direct experience working with or building solutions for skilled nursing facilities (SNF) or similar healthcare organizations.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare workforce management, including:
- Shift scheduling (shift coverage, call-outs, float pools, shift swaps)
- Time tracking and labor law compliance (overtime, paid sick leave, PBJ reporting, etc.)
- Payroll integration and healthcare-specific requirements.
- Proven ability to evaluate existing products, identify improvement areas, and drive enhancement roadmaps.
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills, working effectively across UX/UI, engineering, BAs, and customer teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and balance competing needs.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution and delivery.
- Familiarity with industry standards and trends in workforce management platforms is a strong plus.
