Job Overview – Employee Benefits Account Manager:

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000/year + bonus

Location: Long Island, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid – 1 remote day per week)


Drive client satisfaction as an Employee Benefits Account Manager with our client in Long Island, NY, supporting mid-to-large employer groups in a dynamic, hybrid environment. Manage day-to-day service for group health plans, lead the renewal process, and coordinate open enrollments from start to finish. Ideal for licensed benefits professionals with experience in fully insured and self-funded plans and proficiency in platforms like BenefitPoint and Employee Navigator.


Responsibilities as the Employee Benefits Account Manager:

  • Client Service & Support: Act as the main contact for employer groups, addressing benefit inquiries, enrollments, billing, claims, and day-to-day plan administration.
  • Renewals & Marketing: Manage the renewal process by gathering census data, reviewing proposals, and preparing plan comparisons and presentations.
  • Carrier & Vendor Coordination: Work with insurance carriers, TPAs, and vendors to resolve issues, request quotes, and implement plan changes.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure accurate recordkeeping and compliance with ACA, ERISA, and internal procedures.
  • Enrollment & Data Management: Support open enrollment logistics and maintain updated data in agency systems and HRIS platforms.


Qualifications for the Employee Benefits Account Manager:

  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Life & Health Insurance license is required.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in employee benefits account management, preferably within a brokerage, insurance agency, or carrier environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in agency management systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Excel, with strong preference for experience using BenefitPoint and Employee Navigator.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of self-funded plans, PEO structures, and employee benefits administration is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
