Keville Enterprises Inc., an established Construction Management Consulting & Inspection firm, is seeking a full-time Field Inspector to join our team in New York on MTA projects throughout the 5 boroughs. Due to the nature of the role, daily on-site presence is required, with nights and weekend work for long durations throughout the project. Duties:

  • Oversee contractor operations on active MTA transit construction projects

  • Provide access to MTA infrastructure including A&P, EDR, Signal Rooms, Hatches, Manholes, and Tunnels

  • Conduct daily site inspections and produce detailed reports

  • Ensure all work is performed under proper flagging and safety protocols. (Flagging rules, flagging equipment, flagging procedures, TSS, flagging quarter, Managing Work train and Test train.)

  • Coordinate with MTA divisions such as MOW, C&D, Track, Signal, Environmental, System Safety, and Stations

  • Manage General Orders (GOs), including running and communicating GO changes

  • Handle Piggyback GOs, under flagging, bypass requests, track power coordination, alarm boxes, and site safety measures (e.g., rubber mats, tie bumpers)

  • Resolve on-site issues (e.g., MIA PB, fouled track, obstructions, broken work train, LLLE encroachment) and ensure seamless handover of revenue track

  • Open and close GOs, including power shut-off, securing tracks, and working closely with Third Rail and Signal teams for safe reactivation

Qualifications:

The field inspector must have at least 10 years of relevant experience. Required certifications include PMG123, OSHA 30, and MTA Track Safety Training. A bachelor's degree in civil engineering is preferred, along with a valid driver's license. The ideal candidate should possess a strong working knowledge of railway flagging, including flagging rules, equipment, procedures, TSS, and flagging quarters. Experience in managing work train and test train operations is also essential. Additionally, the candidate should be skilled in emergency response coordination, incident resolution, and effective communication and coordination with relevant MTA departments.

General Work Conditions: Field Environment: Work is frequently performed in a field environment in which there is consistent exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work frequently requires working at client's job site, construction trailer, and in a field environment. Work may sometimes require working in inclement weather, working in a construction site, being exposed to heavy construction equipment, and doing extensive walking. Depending on the specific project, the job may require climbing to various elevations, ability to bend, twist and turn in close clearances, and crawl into confined spaces to perform required work. Select jobs may require work near heavy construction equipment, railroad right of ways, bridges, construction sites, tunnels and airport runways. Work environment may require use of construction/inspection safety equipment including fall equipment. Adherence to applicable safety protocol is required.
