Job Title: Restaurant General Manager – Hibachi Dining
Location: Staten Island, NY

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a high-volume hibachi-style restaurant in Staten Island, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese and hibachi dining, with a passion for hospitality, team development, and operational excellence. This leadership role requires someone with proven experience managing large FOH and BOH teams in an energetic, guest-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house, to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience
Lead by example in delivering outstanding hospitality and memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced, interactive hibachi setting
Recruit, train, and develop staff, including servers, hosts, chefs, and hibachi performers, fostering a culture of professionalism and teamwork
Ensure proper scheduling, labor management, and staff coverage across all shifts
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and compliance with health regulations
Monitor inventory, food cost, and supply orders; work closely with kitchen leadership on prep, portion control, and product consistency
Handle guest concerns professionally and quickly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
Drive revenue through exceptional service, guest retention, and local marketing initiatives
Manage all financial aspects of the restaurant, including budgeting, P&L, forecasting, and cost controls
Collaborate with ownership and senior leadership to meet and exceed operational and financial goals

Qualifications:

5+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years in a hibachi or Japanese dining concept
Strong understanding of hibachi-style service, including chef performances, table turn timing, and guest flow management
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a high-volume environment
Strong knowledge of inventory management, labor scheduling, and P&L reporting
Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and hands-on in all aspects of operations
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred:

Experience managing private dining events or parties
Familiarity with restaurant software platforms (POS, scheduling, inventory, etc.)
Bilingual in English and Japanese or Spanish a plus
