Our client, a leading healthcare, medical supply company is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team.
Staff Accountant is flexible, adaptable, and willing to jump in and learn the processes associated with cash, prepaids, intercompany, and many other aspects of accounting and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Controller’s group and performs range of accounting duties to ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and financial statements. This position will record monthly journal entries and review accounts, perform monthly account reconciliations, compile and analyze financial data, and work cross functionally. The role is detail oriented and will be involved in the improvement of processes and internal controls.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Responsible for recording daily cash activity inclusive of AR cash applications and AP payment processing. (TREASURY)
· Maintain Supplier Master, inclusive of bank data verification, utilizing proper controls (MASTER DATA MAINTENANCE)
· Data entry of PO and non PO invoices in ERP, adhering to internal controls for proper review/approval (AP ENTRY)
· Audit sales orders for correct pricing and critical information. (ORDER ENTRY)
· Generate AR invoices for sales order shipments in ERP and maintain the resulting Invoice Register (AR ENTRY)
· Review AR Aging with intent to follow up on past due accounts, working to resolve underlying issues (COLLECTIONS)
· Generate Purchase Orders in ERP and manage workflow for authorizations (PURCHASING)
· Develop and foster working relationships with suppliers and customers, providing support/research as needed.
· Reconcile capital expenditures with weekly reporting of capital projects. (CAPEX REPORTING)
· Responsible for month end close activities supporting AR, AP, and CAPEX reporting as well as petty cash and bank account reconciliations
· Supports 1099 Filing
· Maintains financial integrity by following internal controls and reviews transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
· Additional duties as assigned.
qualifications:
Required
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Preferred
· Certified Public Accountant
· Public manufacturing company with corporate environment
