Responsible for the leadership of Home business unit dining operation. Manages the dining room staff. Oversees the delivery individualized and flexible dining options for residents at St John’s Home in a welcoming and responsive atmosphere.
Qualifications & Education Required:
- Commitment and passion for residents and a meaningful meal experience
- High School diploma or G.E.D required
- 5 or more years or more of experience in restaurant management or comparable food service management preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in leadership position preferred
- Ability to interact with residents and care for their needs

Position Competencies:
- Interpersonal skills: support emotional, physical and social well-being of dining room assistants Problem solving / decision making
- Leadership skills: provide consultation services to support residents and staff as needed, lead by example, distribute responsibilities among interdisciplinary team members
- Coaching and development: set clear expectations, coach staff, manage performance
- Organizational skills: talent management (oversee staffing, hiring, performance improvement), quality assurance Performance Improvements, financial skills (oversee budgeting, payroll and ordering)
Position Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning and implementation of new meal or food related experiences
- Participate in QAPI activities including data collection, audits, monitoring, and quality improvement plans for meal experience and nutritional needs
- Support onboarding and training to ensure competent and skilled team members
- Collaborate with Work Life to develop and maintain effective staff hiring, orientation, on-boarding, education and training strategies
- Work collaboratively with staff and other disciplines to ensure residents, visitors, and employees have exceptional food and positive meal experience at all 3 meals 7 days/week
- Ensure effective processes are in place for compliance with food safety, monitoring costs of labor, and ensuring satisfaction of residents on the neighborhood
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift, bend and stand most of the day
- Walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, bending and reaching to accomplish tasks. Ability to lifting up to 50 lbs
Exposure to Conditions:
- Possible exposure to wet, slippery surfaces.
