What a day is like:

The Payroll Specialist ensures the integrity and timeliness of our weekly and biweekly payroll to sustain our employee satisfaction, accountability, and overall growth of the company. This role is responsible for working in conjunction with the Payroll Manager in all facets of payroll and reporting as well as acting as a subject matter advisor to all employee inquiries regarding payroll. Through excellence in execution, problem solving and process improvement, branch management and employees can focus on their essential duties of selling and delivering services without unnecessary distraction.

What kind of person are we looking for:

  • College degree preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of UKG, Ulti-Pro or Kronos a plus
  • Knowledge of prevailing wage a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, recognize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain integrity of confidential information
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment with varied responsibilities

  • Process and administer all facets of multi state weekly and biweekly payroll for 2000 employees/over 65 locations/and over 24 States (and growing) using UKG Workforce.
  • Generate and develop management and payroll-related reports using UKG BI and Excel
  • Process all mandatory and voluntary deductions including 401(k), flexible spending, garnishments etc.
  • Track benefit accruals and balances to ensure accuracy
  • Manage online time clock system
  • Review and ensure accuracy of timesheets
  • Process prevailing wage reporting
  • Research guidelines and regulations in operating states to ensure compliance
  • Provide customer service in a timely manner to payroll inquiries from operating branches and employees
  • Coordinate the setup of direct deposit
  • Assist with processing certified payroll
  • Partnering with Payroll Manager, identify opportunities for process improvement (supporting the company’s Continuous Improvement culture) by eliminating non-value add activity and/or leveraging technology, analyze and implement accordingly
  • Any other tasks as deemed necessary by management
