Controller – Technology | Lincoln IT
Location: Hicksville, NY | Industry: IT Services & Solutions
Lincoln IT, a leading provider of technology solutions and managed services, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee and manage the company’s accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in financial management, internal controls, and team leadership, ideally within a service-based or project-driven business.
This role will report directly to executive leadership and will be responsible for the integrity of all financial reporting, compliance, and day-to-day accounting functions. The Controller will also provide key financial insights to support strategic planning and business operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, and Month-End Close

Supervise and develop a finance team of approximately five individuals

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and internal reports

Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP

Oversee cash flow tracking, bank reconciliations, and assist in forecasting and budgeting

Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for annual audits

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax and regulatory filings

Assist in contract review, vendor management, and financial risk assessment

Work closely with department heads to track project/job costing and analyze financial performance
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA preferred

Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or Controller role

Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems a plus

Familiarity with project-based accounting, job costing, and service-driven financial reporting

Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
