As a Controller at Horizon, you will…

  • Manage month-end and year-end close procedures
    • Review and approve journal entries.
    • Oversee preparation of monthly financial statement package
    • Prepare monthly analyses of financial trends, budget variances, and revenue changes per month (services, reimbursement rates, etc.)
  • Leading financial audits through management of the preparation and process, and ensuring all records and reports are accurate.
  • Communication with the revenue cycle team to ensure cross-functional reports between billing and financial reporting teams.
  • Maintenance of general ledger, chart of accounts, and financial reporting software.
  • Oversight of Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Cash Management departments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or an Economics field required.
  • 5+ years of demonstrable experience as a controller or in a finance leadership role required.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and revenue cycles.
  • Proficiency in not-for-profit account rules and regulations.
  • Excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior management.
  • High level of integrity and dependability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification – e.g. CPA.
  • Experience in healthcare, specifically with EHR systems and related reporting, and healthcare revenue cycles.

Location:

This position is located at 55 Dodge Rd, Getzville NY.

Hours:

This position is full-time, Monday-Friday.

Compensation:

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $85,000 - $100,000. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Physical demands associated with this position include:

  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting
  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
