Credit Analyst- Physician Billing
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Melville, NY
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Credit & Billing Specialist to join a fast-paced healthcare services organization. In this role, you’ll be responsible for reviewing and resolving credit balances, handling insurance discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with healthcare billing regulations.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in physician billing, medical insurance coverages, and governmental regulations, along with the ability to manage deadlines and complex billing scenarios efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Review, analyze, and resolve credit balances and overpayments
- Identify coordination of benefits issues and assist patients in resolving discrepancies
- Handle telephone inquiries related to overpayments and refunds
- Review and resolve third-party correspondence and denials related to credits and refunds
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and governmental requirements
- Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) accurately
- Work within defined deadlines and billing timelines
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
- 3+ years of healthcare billing, reimbursement, or collections experience preferred
- Physician billing experience required
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance coverages
- Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations
- Full knowledge of ICD-9/10 and CPT coding
- Experience with third-party billing, including modifiers and COB rules
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards
- Experience using EPIC preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
