Now Hiring: Patient Accounts Billing Representative (Onsite - White Plains, NY)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Patient Accounts Billing Representative to join a growing healthcare billing team. This position is 100% onsite for the first year with eligibility for a hybrid schedule thereafter. The ideal candidate will have experience working in EPIC, handling claim edits, rejections, and full-cycle billing processes through payer portals.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/hr
Location: White Plains, NY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (on-site, full-time)
Employment Model: Contract to hire (5 months)



Responsibilities:

  • Accurately bill all third-party insurance carriers

  • Resolve unbilled claims and manage claim edits using EPIC work queues

  • Submit claims electronically and by paper through payer portals

  • Monitor host systems and scrubbers to ensure timely processing

  • Review and work trial balance reports and aged accounts

  • Complete charge adjustments, recodes, and late charge rebills

  • Handle rejection reports and initiate corrections or re-bills as needed

  • Review and respond to correspondence from insurance payers and patients

  • Initiate refunds and respond to inquiries for missing/incomplete billing information

  • Support incoming patient and insurance phone calls as needed

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations

  • Complete online claim edit reviews and submit corrections as required



Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Minimum 2 years of billing or clerical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

  • Familiarity with EMRs (EPIC preferred) and billing systems

  • Experience with payer portals and insurance claim workflows

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Must complete HBI certification during onboarding (provided)



Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of medical billing regulations and terminology

  • Experience with claim follow-up, denials, and re-billing processes

  • Basic computer and office equipment proficiency

  • Ability to stay focused, organized, and maintain confidentiality under pressure
