Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The NYCHA Summer Program Assistant/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Program Coordinator with the overall functioning of program components related to service delivery to participants between the ages of 13-21 from July 7, 2025 to August 29, 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with outreach activities related to promoting the NYCHA Summer Program (marketing and publicity – getting the word out)
- Supervision of youth participants in a Summer Program setting
- Taking attendance and handling of registration forms for program participants
- Aide with the running of activities (basketball, martial arts, art, drumming and others) with the goal of making the space as engaging, safe and welcoming as possible.
- Support the planning and execution of cultural events to engage the community at large
- Help with the organization and implementation of a basketball tournament throughout the Alfred E Smith projects
- Assist with the co-facilitation of workshops on teen violence/crime reduction as well as conflict resolution
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
- Experience working with youth ages 13-21
- Ability to multi-task and work in group settings
- Experience facilitating workshops preferred
Compensation: $22 per hour
Hours: Evening and weekend hours, 20 hours per week
