Job Title: Project Controller

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Project Controller to oversee and manage critical aspects of our large construction projects, focusing on budget management, cost control, and reporting. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our project management, procurement, construction, and finance teams and will provide regular updates to the COO, and CFO. This role has the potential to expand to include additional management responsibilities across various areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage detailed budgets for projects, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
- Prepare accurate estimates for completion for all budgeted items, ensuring that financial resources are allocated effectively.
2. Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Monitor actual project costs and compare them against budgeted estimates to ensure financial targets are met.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project cost estimates, financial models, and business cases.
- Proactively identify potential cost overruns before they occur and implement strategies to mitigate risks.
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising quality or project timelines.
- Track project progress against established timelines, ensuring that milestones are met efficiently.
3. Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive budget vs. actual reports, offering insights into financial performance and project status.
- Implement and maintain project control processes and tools to ensure effective monitoring and reporting. Provide projections on cash flows and updates on project costs, ensuring stakeholders are informed of any financial implications.
- Report on issues related to timelines and milestones, facilitating effective decision-making by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in project finance, controlling, or a related field, preferably in the industrial construction industry
- Strong understanding of budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, PMI)
- Experience within a specific industry, such as construction, data centers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
