Studio Assistant — Jefferson Hayman Studio
Jefferson Hayman Studio is looking for a studio assistant to join a working fine art
practice. This role offers a rare opportunity to be inside the daily life of an artist—where
ideas are tested, objects are made, and time is taken seriously.
This position is well suited to someone early in their creative path who wants to learn
through presence and participation. You should bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a
strong work ethic, with an understanding that meaningful creative work is built quietly,
over time.
As a studio assistant, you’ll be part of the studio’s rhythm: organizing and maintaining
the space, assisting with artworks and materials, helping with documentation, packing,
and supporting the day-to-day needs that allow the work to exist.
The studio is a place of focus, patience, and attention. In return, the work is creatively
fulfilling. You’ll gain practical knowledge, a deeper understanding of process, and insight
