Salary/Hourly Rate:
$130k - $155k Annually

Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Server Administrator to join a dynamic Infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who thrives in high-availability environments and enjoys managing complex server ecosystems across both on-premises and cloud platforms. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing mission-critical infrastructure that supports core business operations.

Responsibilities of the Senior Server Administrator:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft-based server infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Manage and support VMware virtualization platforms, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions using Veeam Backup technologies.
  • Monitor and maintain high-availability systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and vulnerability remediation to maintain secure and compliant environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex server, storage, and virtualization issues.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Server Administrator:

  • 7+ years of hands-on server and infrastructure administration within Microsoft environments.
  • Strong expertise in administering VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Extensive experience implementing and supporting Veeam Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Proven experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments (on-premises and cloud).
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system optimization skills.
  • Experience managing mission-critical, high-availability production systems.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Server Administrator:

  • Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks, security best practices, and infrastructure governance.
  • Experience working in structured enterprise environments with executive-level visibility.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Cloud, or Backup/DR technologies) are a plus.
