About the Organization:As a research and action organization, the Center for Policing Equity (CPE) produces analyses that identify and reduce the causes of racial disparities in public safety. Using data-driven approaches to social justice, we use science to create levers for social, cultural, and policy change.

Our aim is to bridge the divide of communication, generational mistrust, and suffering. But most of all, we are the path that science can forge toward public safety, community trust, and racial equity.
Position Overview:
CPE is looking for a Digital Storytelling & Campaigns Senior Manager who is passionate about racial justice and understands the power of storytelling to create change and engage critical stakeholders (e.g., partners, donors, etc.) Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, the Digital Storytelling & Campaigns Senior Manager will drive digital strategy planning and lead the development and design of digital assets for short-term and long-term campaigns, including web development, email, and social media campaigns. Whether distilling complex research into human-centered narratives, articulating why giving to CPE matters, or spotlighting transformative public safety efforts, your work will help shape how audiences see and support CPE.
This role is central to how CPEs brand is seen, felt, and understood across digital channels. The ideal candidate is a creative strategist who understands how storytelling, visual identity, and message consistency work to build trust and visibility.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, visually branded digital content for social media, email, and multi-channel campaigns. This includes, but is not limited to, graphics, short-form video, reels, and more.
- Drive digital marketing and communication strategies to enhance fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Development team, aiming to engage potential donors, craft persuasive fundraising messages, and oversee donor relations across multiple digital communications channels. Act as a thought leader and collaborator.
- Translate complex concepts, research findings, and partner stories into accessible, story-driven content that elevates CPEs mission and brand.
- Develop and manage content calendars ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational priorities, key moments, and cross-channel messaging.
- Ensure consistency in visual identity, voice, and tone across platforms to reinforce CPEs brand positioning as a trusted voice in racial equity and public safety.
- Ensure all digital campaign strategies engage and inform our key stakeholders by using our research, data tools, and expertise.
- Collaborate with members of the communications team and key members of other teams org-wide to source and recommend the best use of digital content in each unique circumstance.
- Coordinate cross-promotion and collaborative digital content opportunities with peer organizations.
- Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with digital influencers, content creators, and aligned public figures to amplify CPEs reach and influence.
- Use, update, and monitor media, marketing, and communications management platforms and tracking tools (both internal and external) to capture KPI reporting. Use KPIs and other metrics to inform adjustments to strategic plans to ensure strategic effectiveness.
- Stay informed about trends and innovations in digital media and storytelling.
- Support additional graphic design needs across the organization as assigned.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., journalism, communications, marketing, public affairs, graphic design)
- Six (6) years of progressive experience in communications, social media management, PR, and/or marketing at a fast-paced organization or agency
- Experience and knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and related strategies
- Experience managing others to accomplish projects of various sizes and levels of complexity
- Exceptional graphic design skills are essential, including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. Portfolio of recent design work required with application
- Fluency in media, marketing, and communications monitoring tools such as Cision, Meltwater, Google Analytics, HubSpot, etc.
- Proficient in the use of the Associated Press (AP) style for writing, editing, and inclusive storytelling
- Experience with communications, PR, and/or marketing directly related to racial, social, and/or criminal justice issues
- Superb written, digital, and verbal communication skills; ability to bring disparate audiences together around inspiring stories and compelling messages
- Highly collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally
- Highly organized and systematic, with superb attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete several tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to seamlessly transition between high-level strategic thinking and tactical execution
- Ability to work independently and elicit trust in judgment (can make trusted recommendations), in collaboration with the Vice President of Communications, Senior Strategic Director, and other organization leaders
Compensation:
Range: $90,000 -$100,000. The base salary for this position will vary based on place of residence and job-related criteria, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience, among other factors.
