Job Title: Assistant Controller

Company Overview:
Major company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in managing and overseeing the financial operations and reporting processes of the company. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, systems proficiency, and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of all tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and other local or federal filings.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and assist with the implementation of any necessary changes.
  • Ensure the proper documentation of financial transactions and maintain an effective system of internal controls.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform account analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate flow of financial information.
  • Contribute to system enhancements and process improvements, specifically with Great Plains.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as an Assistant Controller or Controller in a corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, specifically Great Plains (preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
