ANE Consulting is a leading construction management services firm known for its excellence in delivering complex, high-visibility projects. As part of a multi-year public infrastructure initiative, ANE is managing the development of four new borough-based jails in New York City, replacing the Rikers Island complex.
About the Role
As Community Construction Liaison, you will be the primary point of contact between the construction project team and the surrounding community. This role is central to fostering transparency, managing public communications, and ensuring that community voices are heard and addressed throughout the life of this highly visible six-year project.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact for community concerns, inquiries, and complaints.

Develop and disseminate construction updates to stakeholders, community organizations, and the general public.

Coordinate with project teams, contractors, the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and its Program Management Consultant.

Attend and present at Community Board, stakeholder, and public meetings; occasionally attend weekend events.

Identify and flag potential negative community impacts of planned work activities before execution.

Maintain an updated community events calendar and identify key community institutions for outreach.

Prepare informational materials, construction notices, newsletters, and digital communications.

Provide photos and videos of site milestones, record events, and draft write-ups for public updates.

Keep detailed office records of complaints, correspondence, and meeting minutes.

Communicate and enforce protocols from elected officials, media, Community Boards, City agencies, residents, and businesses.

Update and maintain program website project pages with timely information.
Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience in community relations, public outreach, or related field.

Experience working with NYC Community Boards, elected officials, and local organizations.

Fluency in English and Mandarin (Cantonese accepted).

Strong public speaking and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat/Creative Suite, and SharePoint.
