Our company is currently seeking a Bookkeeper- Construction to join our team! You will be taking over the books for one of our in-house subcontractors and will be working closely with the rest of our accounting department.
Responsibilities:
- Recording Financial transactions
- Manage accounts payable and receivables
- Meticulously track costs associated with each project, including labor, material, permits and other expenses
- Enter and process payroll for union and non-union employees, prepare remittance reports for payments to unions.
- Monthly reconciliation of credit card and bank statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Prepare monthly AIAs to bill clients and follow up for prompt payment.
- Prepare weekly certified payrolls to submit to various NYC agencies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
- Experience working in the construction industry (working for a general contractor or a subcontractor a big plus)
- Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong organizational skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks desktop
- Experience working with NYC public agencies like the NYC Housing Authority and NYC School Construction Authority
- Bachelor's degree
