Title: PRIVATE BUDGET MANAGER
Reports to: VICE PRESIDENT – CONTRACTS & BUDGETS
Location: Fiscal Department, 305 Seventh Ave., New York, NY 10001
Hours: 35 hours, exempt
Salary: $74,000-$82,000/Year
Job Summary:Assists in the coordination and preparation of all Agency private budget management and related financial analysis
Major Duties:
- Prepare and coordinate agency private funder budgets and expenditure reporting
- Assist in preparing annual Agency-wide budget, as related to private funding analysis and reporting
- Monitor timeline for private budgets and expense reporting, meeting all deadlines
- Monitor all spending, variance analysis and private funding utilization
- Prepare analysis and documentation for quarterly/as needed budget meetings with program leadership to ensure best practice and use of agency private funding
- Prepare financial analysis, including budget to financial variances, key financial health indicators, and other as needed for private funders
- Work closely with Contracts & Budgets team to align funding and spending with related government funding
- Work closely with the Grants department to monitor outstanding funding issues
- Prepare journal entries as needed
- Provide audit documentation as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned by the VP and/or CFO
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 3 years relevant experience required
- Experience in budgetary and accounting analysis
- Excellent computer/technical skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of funding requirements as related to a social service agency
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
