Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000

Position Type: This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. Lantern staff may be asked to change work schedule and hours depending on the operational needs of the site and the agency.


Objective:

The Vice President of Clinical Programs provides strategic leadership around the design, implementation and evaluation of agency initiatives that address emerging resident need and public health policy developments. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this position supervises cross-building teams and helps expand organizational capacity to deliver impactful behavioral health interventions. The role also serves as an internal subject matter expert, supporting staff and residents through training, skill building and resource development. We seek a licensed behavioral health professional committed to equity, tenant empowerment, and housing-first principles to drive service delivery innovation and program efficacy.


Essential Functions:

  • Supervise cross-building services related to tenant behavioral health needs.
  • Serve as a behavioral health resource to staff by delivering ongoing training and consultation, with a focus on behavioral, mental health, and substance use issues.
  • Support interdepartmental collaborations to embed health strategies across supportive housing services.
  • Develop group work modules with Resident Learning and coordinate these resources with Program, Housing Stability and Training departments.
  • Ensure Harm Reduction programming and resources are available agency wide.
  • Research, plan and facilitate implementation of initiatives and programs supporting high acuity tenants.
  • Coordinate special projects and pilot programs, including those funded by grants or external partnerships; serve as the primary point of contact for these initiatives.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of program activities and outcomes.
  • Monitor program effectiveness using data-driven evaluation tools and performance metrics.
  • Promote and sustain partnerships with other organizations providing services in the supportive housing and shelter sector.
  • Identify and sustain liaisons with community-based treatment resources including clinics, hospitals and intensive response mental health resources to better serve high-acuity tenants.
  • Assist with grant writing, budgeting, and program planning.
  • Represent the agency at industry policy and practice forums including conferences, presentations and workgroups.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work or related behavioral health discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with high needs clients required.
  • LCSW, LMHC or equivalent state licensing and certification strongly preferred.
  • Solid foundation in harm reduction, health disparities, the Housing First model, trauma-informed care, and culturally competent service delivery.
  • Effective communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of teams in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in supportive housing or working with underserved communities is strongly preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position oversees cross-building services teams in multiple locations.

Work Environment: This job operates in an office environment. There will be travel regularly to other locations throughout New York City as needed to assist the needs of our supportive housing sites and may include work with a population who experiences mental illness, addiction, disability, HIV, and other chronic illnesses.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop and/ or kneel. They must also use hands to type, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
