SUMMARY:
To provide direction, information, and instruction to case planners to maintain the provision of appropriate services to birth families, children, and foster parents.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Weekly supervision of assigned staff provide/including:
- Compliance with Administration of Children’s Services (ACS) and New York State Department of Social Services regulations.
- Provision of services to children and families to ensure earliest possible return home or, in the event of a goal change, discharge to adoption, independent living, etc.
- Ensure that concurrent planning, early permanency planning, and use of family-to-family approach is in place.
- Monitor the timely submission of all paperwork to ACS.
- Monitor and participate in Family Team Conferences; observe workers overall relationships with clients and other systems.
- Supervise FTC Facilitators.
- Monthly review of progress notes and casework contacts for each caseload: all FASP’s, Permanency Hearing Reports, and all written materials submitted from the agency.
- Monthly unit meetings with case planners to disseminate information
- Attendance at supervisor’s meeting and in-service training.
- Handle emergencies for case planners.
- Assist with training new social work supervisors.
- Review family visitation list weekly and ensure appropriate coverage is available and environment is appropriate for families.
- Provide support to Social Work Supervisors (as needed).
- Work with medical support team to ensure special / exceptional rate packets are completed timely.
- Submit special / exceptional rate packets.
- Complete placement module task as needed and collaborate with finance to ensure task is done correctly.
- Perform other job-related tasks and duties as assigned by Regional Manager and VP of EFFC.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MSW or MS/MA in other related human service field and 2-3 years post master’s experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Computer proficient, knowledge of Connections.
- Knowledge of child welfare and related legislation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of family court procedures.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
