Our established dental lab partner is looking for a Director of Sales to manage the East Coast Field Sales Team. The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales team and implementing business plans and processes designed to increase revenue. This role involves setting effective sales strategies, establishing goals, overseeing daily sales activities, and measuring sales performance. The Director of Sales will manage current sales operations and play a crucial role in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership:
- Leads a sales team of Field Technical Advisors that executes prospecting, cold calling, on-site sales presentations and closing, ensuring timely follow through on sales leads
- Hires, trains, and develops Field Technical Advisors
- Quarterly travel with Field Technical Advisors to provide training and coaching for improved outcomes
- Develops territory plans with all Field Technical Advisors and complete a Quarterly Business Review with those individuals on the team
- Performs weekly and monthly team review of KPIs and achievement of revenue targets and updates the leadership team monthly
- Drives accountability and continuous improvement in sales effectiveness
- Mentors and provides training to improve team productivity and effectiveness
- Provides daily oversight and management of the sales teams performance, attendance, and behavior. And provides course correction to address short falls in performance in a timely manner
- Ensures the proper use of CRM databases and tools to track performance. Implements strategies for improvement as needed
- Ensures all Field Technical Advisors maintain and submit sales activity reports and other reports, as necessary.
Individual Contribution to Sales:
Develops and maintains key customer relationships.
Identifies, develops, and maintains strong, results-oriented relationships with prospective and existing customers that will result in new and increased sales revenues.
Responsible for identifying new sales opportunities and acquiring new business within the DSO (Dental Service Organization) market.
- Attends local, regional, and national tradeshows as a method of both building sales and fostering strategic relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business management, finance, marketing or a closely related field or equivalent experience
- 5 years progressive sales and sales leadership experience. (Experience communicating with dental or medical professionals a plus)
- Proven record of exceeding annual sales and revenue objectives
- Demonstrates the ability to absorb and utilize detailed knowledge of the companys products and services as well as competitive products and markets
- Demonstrates solid motivational and leadership skills to drive results amongst the sales team
- Exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods with a hunter mentality and strong sales closing skills
- Ability to engage with executives and create and make presentations suitable for board-level interactions
- A strong, decisive, customer-focused leader who consistently demonstrates a sense of urgency
- Results driven with a commitment to high-quality, consistent outcomes
- Exhibits strong interpersonal, customer service and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrates ability to think creatively
- Works well with a team
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills, including superior presentation skills. Must be able to clearly and concisely make presentations and persuade others

- Must be organized and detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Deadline-oriented, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Strong business skills, including the ability to present business cases for new sales growth
- Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel approximately 40-50% of the time to all laboratory locations and relevant marketplaces
Package Includes
- Base Salary + Commission/Bonus ($200k OTE)
