Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior Accountant


Location: New York, NY

Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a background in public accounting, particularly those with experience at a Big 4 firm. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to the development of internal accounting policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal standards.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.

  • Conduct independent research on complex accounting issues and assist in drafting internal accounting policies and procedures.

  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.

  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and industry practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and operational efficiency.

  • Review and validate the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with prior Big 4 public accounting experience.

  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP systems is a plus.

  • Familiarity with utility industry accounting or derivative accounting is advantageous but not required.

Preferred Attributes:

  • CPA certification or progress toward certification is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.



Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
