Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a background in public accounting, particularly those with experience at a Big 4 firm. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting regulatory compliance, and contributing to the development of internal accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal standards.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.

Conduct independent research on complex accounting issues and assist in drafting internal accounting policies and procedures.

Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Assist in the preparation of financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.

Monitor changes in accounting standards and industry practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Review and validate the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates with prior Big 4 public accounting experience.

Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Familiarity with utility industry accounting or derivative accounting is advantageous but not required.
Preferred Attributes:

CPA certification or progress toward certification is strongly preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Pay Details: $95,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
