In this role, you will support our clients by addressing incoming issues while adapting to our evolving business needs. This position is hardware-centric, focuses on our imaging solutions, which include image deployment and solution building. Most of your time will be spent creating new images that meet our standards and ensuring that the software is secure and functioning effectively.
You would maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Document, maintain, upgrade, or replace hardware and software systems where needed. Support and maintain user account information, including rights, security, and systems groups. To succeed in this role, you should have a problem-solving attitude along with the ability to give clear technical instructions. You should also be familiar with remote troubleshooting techniques. Ultimately, you will ensure that all computers and networks operate efficiently with high uptime. In this role, the Desktop Engineer will also be responsible for mitigating security issues that affect business networks. Engineers are expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines. Essential Functions:

  • Provide timely support for all Service Desk requests from local and remote employees.
  • Perform Level 2 troubleshooting, problem solving, and assistance on various software applications and hardware systems.
  • Break/Fix support for all desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and printers.
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity for end users at home and in the office.
  • Track, document, and update all problem and service requests, through to final resolution via the company’s ticketing system, Jira Service Management.
  • Provide basic support & troubleshooting of O365 suite of products, including Exchange online.
  • Create users accounts & mailboxes. Track user account creation, changes, and deletions.
  • Manage & maintain all inventory levels of equipment and materials enterprise-wide.
  • Build & maintain primary image from bare metal as new models emerge.
  • Repair desktop hardware when feasible.
  • Image, configure, and deploy hardware & standard software daily.
  • Updating the internal knowledge base and/or communicating learnings with relevant business units.
  • Update and create new documentation of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Please respond to urgent and ad hoc requests. After-hours support may be required.
  • Respond to security alerts from SIEM & Endpoint protection application.
  • Evaluate the performance of the company's desktop infrastructure and offer recommendations to enhance efficiency.
  • Raise issues internally, with third-party vendors, or with service providers when necessary.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for end users.
  • Carries out various job-related tasks as assigned.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full time, Monday through Friday, normal core business hours, and as needed on nights and weekends.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive, hands-on experience providing desktop support and troubleshooting basic technology issues.
  • Strong familiarity with the administration of the Office 365 suite.
  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Experience with remote imaging tools and software is preferred. Please provide examples of remote imaging tools.
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products and remote control.
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities to help resolve technical problems.
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
  • A solid understanding of Windows 11 Professional.
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
  • Knowledge of software distribution and patch management.
  • Excellent communication skills. Strong written, documentation, and verbal skills.
  • Must excel in both team and independent work in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • The individual is well-organized and capable of resolving issues promptly.
  • Focused on customers and maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Comp TIA, A+ Computer Specialist Certification (Preferred, not required).
  • Experience with AWS Workspace/Virtual Desktop is a plus.

Good Faith Compensation
This is an exempt position. The good faith salary compensation for this role is between $80,000 to $85,000.00 USD annually, commensurate with experience.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
