Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant II to join our team. This role includes accounts payable and general ledger duties. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in accounting functions and a strong understanding of accounting principles. This position requires an associate’s degree and a commitment to accuracy and timeliness in both billing and accounting functions.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices and work with vendors.
- Review, match, and process purchasing invoices.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- General Ledger (GL):
- Assist with monthly general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified in the general ledger in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Review and analyze departmental expenses, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing:
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of necessary schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Help prepare reports for management and external auditors.
- Record Keeping & Compliance:
- Ensure that accounting records are maintained in an organized and compliant manner.
- Assist in preparing documentation for audits and other financial reviews.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Assocate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 2 years’ experience with accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and basic accounting functions required.
- Experience working in a healthcare or medical office environment preferred.
