Front of House (FOH) Shift Supervisor – Café Con LechePosition Summary
The Front of House (FOH) Shift Supervisor at Café Con Leche is a working leader responsible for overseeing front-of-house operations during assigned shifts while upholding the brand’s hospitality standards, culture, and service excellence. This role serves as the on‐shift point person, ensuring smooth service, team accountability, and an elevated guest experience rooted in warmth, consistency, and pride.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Lead by example by delivering genuine, high‐energy hospitality aligned with Café Con Leche’s culture and values
- Ensure every guest feels welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of from entry to exit
- Address guest concerns immediately and professionally, escalating when necessary
- Maintain Café Con Leche service standards, presentation, and atmosphere at all times
- Monitor dining room flow, wait times, and service pacing
Team Leadership & Accountability
- Supervise FOH staff during shifts (hosts, servers, baristas, runners, cashiers)
- Assign sections, stations, breaks, and side work
- Coach and support staff in real time to improve service, accuracy, and professionalism
- Hold team members accountable to policies, appearance standards, and procedures
- Document issues, incidents, or commendations and report to management
Operations & Cash Handling
- Execute opening and/or closing shift responsibilities per Café Con Leche procedures
- Oversee POS operations including voids, comps, discounts, and corrections within authority
- Ensure accurate cash handling and end‐of‐shift reporting
- Communicate effectively with BOH to ensure food quality, timing, and order accuracy
Communication & Reporting
- Act as the main point of contact between FOH, BOH, and management during the shift
- Communicate staffing issues, guest feedback, and operational challenges promptly
- Complete all required checklists, logs, photos, and shift documentation
Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all FOH areas meet cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards
- Enforce food safety, alcohol service and workplace policies
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and team‐oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of FOH experience in a restaurant, café, or hospitality environment
- Prior leadership or shift‐lead experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‐solving skills
- Ability to stay calm and decisive in a fast‐paced environment
- POS and cash‐handling experience required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Flexible availability including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to multitask, bend, reach, and move quickly during service
