Position Overview
The ANA is expanding its marketing team and currently hiring across a number of roles focused on marketing and campaign strategy, development and execution. The VP of Marketing & Brand is a leadership role in this expanded team and will serve as ANA's marketing strategist, driving the organization's leading position in the marketing industry through integrated brand and demand strategies. This leadership role owns ANA's brand and marketing strategy, while leading a high-performing marketing team that delivers measurable business outcomes across membership growth, engagement, sponsorship, and brand reputation.
Reporting to the CMO, the VP sets strategic direction for all marketing initiatives, manages agency partnerships, and ensures consistent brand expression across every member touchpoint. This role translates business objectives into marketing strategies and oversees their execution through a talented internal team and external agency partners.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Leadership & Messaging (30%)
- Lead implementing ANA's messaging platform in partnership with its agency
- Ensure consistent brand expression across all touchpoints, communications, and member experiences
- Provide strategic guidance to business units (Membership, Engagement, Sponsorship, Practices) on brand implementation
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to strengthen ANA's market position
- Present brand strategy to senior leadership
- Deliver regular brand health updates and strategic recommendations
Marketing Strategy & Planning (35%)
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans integrating brand, demand, and digital strategies aligned with ANA's growth plans in Membership, Engagement, Sponsorship, Brand Reputation
- Set marketing priorities and KPIs that directly support growth outcomes
- Oversee marketing budget allocation and resource planning across in-house marketing team and agency partners
- Lead annual marketing planning processes with cross-functional stakeholders
- Drive AI integration and personalization strategies across marketing channels
Team & Agency Leadership (20%)
- Lead and develop team including Director of Marketing & Campaign Development, Creative Director, Campaign Operations Manager, and Social Media Manager
- Manage strategic agency relationships ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Mentor broader marketing and communications team on strategic thinking, brand stewardship, and marketing excellence
- Build team capabilities in AI, data-driven decision making, and integrated campaign development
External Relations & Visibility (15%)
- Provide direction on social media initiatives and coordination on PR efforts
- Generate measurable visibility of messaging strategy in earned media
- Build relationships with member marketing leaders to demonstrate value
Qualifications
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 12-15+ years in marketing leadership roles with increasing responsibility
- 5+ years at VP or Senior Director level leading marketing teams
- Proven track record developing and executing integrated brand and demand strategies
- Experience in B2B, association, or membership organizations a plus
- Deep expertise in digital marketing, content strategy, and marketing technology
- History managing agency relationships and driving results through external partners

- Strong understanding of marketing tech stack (CRM, automation, analytics, CMS)
- Experience with AI-powered marketing tools and personalization strategies
- Proficient with analytics and reporting (Google Analytics, dashboards, attribution)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for executive audiences
- Budget management and resource allocation expertise

Salary and Total Rewards Package:
Starting pay range: $140,000 to $150,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
