Job Title: Senior Accountant
Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 days remote)
Salary Range: $90,000 – $105,000
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reporting To: Accounting Leadership

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing and collaborative finance team in a newly created position. This role is perfect for professionals who thrive in dynamic environments and want to make a direct impact on accounting operations and financial reporting.

This position offers the best of both worlds: 50% focused on general accounting—including month-end close and reconciliations—and 50% on financial reporting, analysis, and audit support. The role is hybrid, with three days required in-office each week. You’ll be working under a highly supportive and experienced manager who values professional growth and team collaboration.

Candidates with a blend of public and private accounting experience or big company private are encouraged to apply. Strong public accountants looking to make the move into corporate are also welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end and quarter-end close processes.

  • Conduct detailed general ledger reviews, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP.

  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances independently.

  • Perform variance analyses and explain key drivers, including comparisons to prior periods and budgets.

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization—Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, and Operations—to gather data and ensure accurate closing entries.

  • Assist in developing and implementing best practices that streamline accounting processes and increase efficiency.

  • Support interim and annual external audits by preparing documentation and answering auditor inquiries.

  • Prepare financial statement footnotes and other deliverables for internal and external reporting.

  • Help document internal controls and accounting processes as the company continues to grow and scale.

  • Participate in special projects including system implementations, automation initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience (public accounting or a mix of public/private preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and large data set analysis

  • Experience preparing reconciliations, financial schedules, and variance analyses

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • High attention to detail with the ability to understand the broader financial impact

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively
