Job DescriptionSalary: 19.23 per hour
The Bowery Mission is a Christian, faith-based organization committed since the 1870s to serving people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. As a member of the Choose Help team, the Community Life Associate works collaboratively to create a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment that fosters healthy relationships with God and others.
Specific Responsibilities but are not limited to:
- Welcoming and orienting guests and residents while modeling and coaching independent living skills.
- Promoting healthy communication, overseeing resident program schedules.
- Ensuring compliance with organization health and safety protocols.
- Conducting hourly rounds and scheduled fire drills as necessary.
- Submitting required reports in a timely manner and working collaboratively with other organization departments to support program operations.
Schedule:
Shift #1: Sunday and Monday 7:00am 3:30pm,Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11:30am 8pm (Tuesday/Wednesday off)
Shift #2:Friday - Tuesday, 2pm-10:30pm (Wednesday/Thursday off)
Requirements:
- Embrace's the organizations Statement of Faith
- 2-3 years relevant experience, with demonstrated strong relational skills
- High School diploma, GED or higher
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Highly relational with strong interpersonal skills
- Computer & email proficiency
Preferred:
- Certified in Mental Health First Aid
- Certified in Non-violent Crisis Intervention
- Motivational Interviewing
- Trauma-informed Care
- Certified in First Aid/CPR, F-80 Fire Safety
- Prefer associate degree in relevant area
- Naloxone Training
Salary: $19.23 per hour
