Premium NYC Food Retailer - Bronx Distribution Center

Iconic specialty food company seeks a Sous Chef to support commissary operations for our Bronx distribution center.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in ensuring efficient preparation of high-quality meals
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff in bulk food preparation
  • Maintain consistency in food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures
  • Assist in seasonal menu execution and development
  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and packaging of meals for delivery
  • Monitor inventory, including raw ingredients, supplies, and equipment
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff on food safety and quality standards
  • Assist in managing kitchen labor and food costs
  • Maintaina clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment

What You Need:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar position
  • Strong background in bulk production and warehouse kitchen environments
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Strong understanding of large-scale food production methods and sanitation standards
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • Effective communication skills (Spanish a plus)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $90,000 - $100,000 base salary + discretionary bonus
