Benefits Customer Service Representative Compensation

  • The pay for this position is $16.50 per hour (non-bilingual) and increases to $18.00 per hour after 30 days

  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish or French) start at $17.25 per hour and increase to $18.75 per hour after 30 days

  • Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment

  • A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Benefits Customer Service Representative Highlights

  • This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon performance and business needs

  • Remote role after training, but you must be local to Buffalo, NY (first day onsite to pick up equipment, plus occasional onsite meetings)

  • Monday – Friday schedule, no weekends required

  • Must be flexible between 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM

  • During peak season, expect to work 40+ hours and overtime when needed; off-season may range from 32–40 hours per week

Benefits Customer Service Representative Responsibilities

  • Assist members with enrollment and updates to healthcare and/or pension plans

  • Provide compassionate, accurate, and timely customer service via phone, email, and instant message

  • Translate complex benefit information into clear, easy-to-understand terms

  • Handle confidential information with sensitivity in compliance with HIPAA and data privacy laws

  • Document accurate call and case notes in a professional manner

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions

  • Other duties as assigned

Benefits Customer Service Representative Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Previous customer service or call center experience preferred

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to navigate multiple computer systems

  • Must be able to work in a structured environment and adhere to schedules

  • Must be local to Buffalo, NY

Benefits Customer Service Representative Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in benefits, healthcare, or pension plan administration

  • Call center experience

  • Bilingual in Spanish or French
