Salary range: $130,000-$180,000 per year (varies based on candidate's home location as this role is remote and experience level), plus bonus and equity.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee and execute all monthly financial close procedures. • Deliver comprehensive revenue insights and performance metrics to executive leadership. • Administer accounting processes for policy premiums on short-duration insurance contracts in accordance with ASC 944 standards. • Coordinate accounting procedures for premium adjustments, encompassing refunds and cancellations. • Conduct thorough analysis of trends in key portfolio metrics including premium growth, New Insurance Written (NIW), and Insurance in Force (IIF). • Spearhead automation and process enhancement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency. • Direct and develop a team of revenue accounting professionals, providing structured training, professional mentorship, and constructive performance evaluations. • Engage productively with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits while cultivating effective professional relationships. • Facilitate the preparation of audited statutory statements, GAAP statements, and requisite state filings. • Ensure accurate maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers. • Formulate and implement comprehensive accounting policies, strategic priorities, and procedural frameworks. • Provide professional oversight for SOX and MAR 205 documentation requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of statutory regulations and US GAAP accounting principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing and interpreting complex financial data with precision.
- Advanced project management capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines and optimize workflow efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership qualities and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
