Compensation: $72,000-$82,000 annually, based on experience
Reports to: Manager of Simulation or Tech Lead
About the Role:
As an AssociateSimulation Engineer on our Simulation Team, you will play a key role in advancing the design and performance of cutting-edge tire technology. This hands-on position involves developing, validating, and refining tire simulation models using advanced computational tools. You'll collaborate with engineers and researchers across disciplines to integrate simulation data into real-world design improvements. From finite element analysis (FEA) to vehicle dynamics modeling, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to work at the intersection of innovation and performance. Ideal candidates are technically curious, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to projects that push the boundaries of digital twin technology and real-time simulation.
Job Summary:
As an Associate Simulation Developer, you will contribute to the development, validation, and optimization of tire simulation models. You will work closely with engineers and researchers to integrate simulation tools into the tire design process, ensuring accuracy in performance predictions
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine tire simulation models using computational tools
- Assist in data processing and analysis from tire testing and simulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into design improvements.
- Support finite element analysis (FEA) and other modeling techniques for tire behavior prediction.
- Debug and optimize simulation software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Document findings and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging simulation technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of tire mechanics, vehicle dynamics, and material properties. Advanced knowledge of simulation software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science or related field
- Experience with machine learning applications in predictive modeling
- Knowledge of tire testing procedures and data interpretation
- Good project management abilities
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
- Strong communication and teamworking attitude
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Preferred Knowledge:
- Knowledge of tire materials, construction, and performance characteristics.
- Knowledge of constitutive material models, including hyper elasticity and viscos elasticity
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and real time simulation
- Familiarity with finite element modeling (Abaqus/LS-Dyna)
- Familiarity with Tire models used in vehicle dynamics simulation
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of digital twin technology or Virtual Tire
- Familiarity with IoT integration and use of sensors to communicate, collect and exchange data between physical tire and tire model/simulators.
